Timothy J. Stultz, President & CEO
Timothy Stultz joined Nanometrics as CEO in August 2007 and brings over 20 years of senior management experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry. For the four years prior to joining Nanometrics, Dr. Stultz served as President, CEO and director of Imago Scientific Instruments, a supplier of proprietary 3-D atom probe microscopes to the research materials and microelectronics industries. Prior to Imago, Dr. Stultz served as President and CEO for ThauMDx, a leading developer of diagnostic systems and technologies for the analysis of biomolecules, drugs and chemicals. From 1994 to 1999, Dr. Stultz served as a Vice President and General Manager with Veeco Instruments, during which time he led the growth of Veeco’s metrology business. Dr. Stultz also was the founder and CEO of Peak Systems, Inc., a pioneer in the rapid thermal processing segment of the semiconductor capital equipment industry. Dr. Stultz received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
Gary C. Schaefer, Chief Financial Officer
Gary Schaefer has served as Chief Financial Officer of Nanometrics since November 2007. Previous to his position as CFO, Mr. Schaefer served as Director of Internal Audit, and was an internal audit consultant to the company during 2005 and 2006. Prior to joining Nanometrics, Mr. Schaefer served as CFO of Logic Devices Incorporated, a publicly-traded digital IC company, and CFO of ZMD America, a fabless semiconductor startup. His extensive career in the semiconductor and high-technology industry also includes positions as Controller at PerkinElmer, CFO of Alphatec Semiconductor Electronics and Controller at National Semiconductor. Mr. Schaefer received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University.
Bruce Crawford, Chief Operating Officer
Bruce Crawford joined Nanometrics as Chief Operating Officer in July 2006. Previously, he served as Vice President of Operations at Accent Optical since October 2000. Prior to his position at Accent, Mr. Crawford served as Vice President of Operations at Obsidian, Inc., a semiconductor capital equipment company; Vice President of Manufacturing at Asyst Technologies, a provider of integrated automation solutions for the semiconductor industry; and in various senior management positions at LSI Logic and Seagate Technology.
